Unresponsive or sluggish server performance
While the system is active it requires access to system resources such as RAM and Hard Disk storage. You may encounter situations where service logs report errors such as “System out of Memory” or general system unresponsiveness. When this occurs, you can check the following:
- Open MSMQ from Computer Management and determine if there are unnecessary messages filling up the MSMQ, purging messages as needed.
- PLEXIS recommends setting the default MSMQ Storage Limit to 8GB.
- Using Task Manager assess the allocated RAM and increase as necessary.
- The QC Client will only need ~2GB of RAM.
- The SQL Server RAM allocation will depend on several factors including how many databases are running, what other services are running on the SQL Server, etc.
- Review the storage space available on the server and ensure there is enough free space for QC to continue creating MSMQ messages, log files, and on the SQL Server ensure there is free storage space to allow the database to grow.
